Work with Me

Online intervention, consulting, and instruction

1:1 Literacy Intervention

Appropriate for all ages and skill levels from emergent readers to adults with or without a diagnosis of dyslexia or dysgraphia. My intervention work is completely individualized, adaptive, responsive, and tailored to the specific needs and interests of the student. Rather than being constrained by a scripted program or curriculum, I bring a vast toolbox of resources and depth of experience into my work with each student. While many students come to me with IEP goals or specific work they are doing at their current level at school, my ultimate goal in intervention work is to approach the student as a lifelong reader and learner and to help build confidence, understanding, and skills that will serve throughout their years in school and beyond.

In addition to facilitating reading and writing improvement, I help students and parents to understand dyslexia, how it manifests for them individually, ways it may change over time, and how they can develop and use personal strategies for success. I believe that working together with families is a very important aspect of intervention. Parent support and open, regular communication is included in my intervention fee.

Consulting

When a child is struggling with reading or writing, it can be a very confusing and frustrating path for parents no matter what type of educational setting the child is in. I offer consultation services to provide parents with knowledge, understanding, and support, whether it’s needing help knowing where to start with getting help, how to navigate the school system or diagnostic procedure, wanting to develop a deeper understanding of dyslexia and how it manifests at different stages, or wanting to talk about the more emotional side of this path.

Email me at corrinne@cumuluslearning.net to schedule a free 30-minute consultation.

Literacy Instruction and Tutoring

Even if a student is not struggling with reading or does not have dyslexia, there are many instances in which literacy instruction and tutoring may be beneficial. I provide tutoring to help students become better writers, develop a deeper understanding of the English language and spelling system, and to prepare for the SAT and other standardized tests. I am also available for morning and early afternoon literacy instruction sessions for homeschoolers of all ages and stages.
